Fleet Service Ltd expands

Fleet Service Ltd plans to expand its operations in response to increased workload and growing customer demand. This expansion will include investment in our vehicle workshop facilities and the development of our vehicle conversion capabilities.
 
The Planned move into new premises situated at South Ribble Ind Est, Grove Road, Preston PR5 4AJ.
 
This investment will increase our capacity to undertake additional vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs and specialist conversions, while creating opportunities for further employment and skills development. It will also strengthen our ability to support customers locally, improve operational efficiency and provide a reliable, high-quality service as demand continues to grow.

The expansion will support the creation of new employment opportunities, including skilled workshop and vehicle conversion roles, alongside opportunities for apprenticeships, work placements and on-the-job training. Where possible, we will also engage with local suppliers and businesses, supporting wider economic and social value within the community.

The move is expected to take 4 months to plan and 3 months to execute. This included the installation of 5 new 5 ton Rotary 2 post lifts. one 6.5 ton Rotary lift.

A new class 7 MOT based on a 6.5 ton rotary lift with full one man operation.

Additionally, a new 40ft steel inspection pit will be sunk into the ground in conjunction with a Maha commercial vehicle brake tester. 

With the combination of MOT bays, ramp and pit this allows for FSL to cater for the very large class 4 motor homes and private buses. 

The workshop has been fully fitted with oil, air, and water supplies direct to each work bay.

Further investment has also been made into the vehicle conversion side of the business with an increased working space of around 5000 square feet. The new production facility has its own sub assembly bays, technical offices, and larger stores area. Investment in production practices has also been made. This will enable greater throughput and increased efficiency.

As the business expands, Fleet Service Ltd will seek to create additional employment opportunities within our workshop and vehicle conversion operations. This will include opportunities for skilled technicians, vehicle conversion operatives, support staff and other roles associated with the increased capacity of the business.
